Next time you hold sex take it slow beside lots of foreplay, and if it goes on for a long time next use some lubrication (Water based as grease based lubricants can interfere near condoms, which Im sure you are using.). You should be fine.
Oh, and if you had sex only before your time I find that I am sore for a little longer, so it could be that.
